Chapter Sixteen
Six months have passed since I ran to Ireland thinking Scot had fallen back into his old habit of fucking other people. Things have changed between us. I’ve moved in as he wanted to in his house, I've taken my paintings and the rest of my clothes there, which pleased him. I’ve had the adjoining bedroom redecorated as a walk in wardrobe for me. I love it, he thinks it’s extreme, and obscene the amount of clothes and shoes I own. But I'm sure if all of his were in one place he'd have just as much. I haven't really changed much else, we talked about things in the house which he didn’t like, or had thought of changing and we changed them together. We share the same style so it’s not been a horrible experience.
He has put up more pictures of us both, some from our time before and some from now. I like them all. I love to see pictures other people have of us, especially from our first time together because it helps refocus my memory. I'm always eager to see them. Charlotte had lots, I stole loads from her so I could re look through them, Aimee had taken hundreds and Scot and I had our own personal cameras, so I've put together a photo album of our time together. Scot helped me do it and we talked about everything, small little things excite me the most. He remembers things a little differently, so we talk about them, sometimes we disagree, sometimes he changes his mind and agrees with my version of events, but I rely on his judgement on most things.
I love all the new things I've learnt about him. Things I probably never knew, no, I know I never knew them. Like how grumpy he can get when he's hungry. Or how easily upset he is if I forget to text or call him when I said I would do. He likes to run the house like a military operation, everything is run to a schedule, everything is planned and I've been given the role of checking those plans and deciding on meals etc, which I think is more a female role but he says he's always done it so why can't I? So I did and he didn’t like the changes, no surprise there.
We argued a little then he agreed to try my changes, which mainly included less meat in his diet and less alcohol, oh and less smoking too, he did manage to cut down to ten a day for about a week, but he really drove me round the bend so I just threw him a packet of twenty and sat and smoked with him in bed because it made us both happy and because he really had been good at cutting down his meat and alcohol.
We've been getting used to each other again. It’s been wonderful and romantic. We’ve flown around for long weekends away together. We’ve spent time in Switzerland with our friends there.
